Florida Physical Therapists and Physical Therapist Assistants need 24 contact hours of continuing education, which is due in November of odd years. As a refresher, here is a breakdown of mandatory courses for Physical Therapists and Physical Therapist Assistants licensed in the state of Florida that must be included in the required 24 hours of continuing education:
- Medical Errors Prevention (2 hours)
- HIV/AIDS (1 hour) required only for the first renewal period
Florida Physical Therapists and Physical Therapist Assistants are able to take up to 12 of the 24 required contact hours with online/home study courses. The remaining 12 hours must be live.
