After completing this course, the learner will be able to:

  • Identify statistics and prevalence rates of falls across different patient populations. 
  • Apply a multidisciplinary approach to fall prevention, collaborating effectively as a team of nurses, occupational therapists, and physical therapists to enhance patient safety and reduce fall-related incidents. 
  • Identify the intrinsic and extrinsic risk factors associated with falls. 
  • Choose appropriate fall risk assessment tools and techniques to accurately evaluate a patient's fall risk level and develop personalized fall prevention strategies.

Criteria for Completion: Criteria for Completion: A score of 75% or more is considered passing. Scores of less than 75% indicate a failure to understand the material and the test will need to be taken again until a passing score has been achieved.
