The purpose of this course is to provide practitioners with foundational knowledge of dementia, including stages of decline and symptoms of those stages. Assessment, analysis, and effective documentation will also be a focus of this educational experience.
Learning Outcomes:
Upon the completion of this course, the learner will be able to:
- List differences between normal and abnormal aging
- Recognize the two major types of staging scales used by occupational, physical and speech therapists for cognitive decline and limitations in occupational performance.
- Identify characteristics of case studies to appropriately stage patients using ACL/GDS
