
Tyler Opitz is from Kennewick, Washington and attended Yakima Valley Community College out of high school to play college baseball where he earned his AA degree. Tyler continued his collegiate baseball career and education at Dickinson State University in North Dakota and also was the pitching coach for 1 year. He then attended the University of Montana for PT school. Upon graduation he worked briefly in the San Francisco Bay Area in outpatient orthopedics before returning to work for the Andrews Institute, the site of one of his internships. Tyler has been a PT for 5 years at Andrews specializing in the treatment of the overhead athlete and lower extremity. His patient caseload is comprised of high school, collegiate, and professional athletes as well as recreational athletes and weekend warriors. He has been involved in ongoing research with Malaysian partners on stem cells and chondrogenesis, development and advancing the interval throwing program, return to sport criteria for the upper extremity, and uses with Blood Flow restriction devices in rehab. Ryler earned certifications in Graston, SFMA, Blood Flow Restriction, Sports Certified Specialist (SCS), and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). I am an avid sports fan and love my University of Washington Huskies as well as my two dogs, Bentley and Benson.
