Samantha Heidenreich, OTR/L, OTD, MOT, Myofunctional Therapist, earned her doctorate and masters degrees in occupational therapy from the University of St Augustine for Health Sciences in San Marcos, California. Her doctorate capstone focused on feeding and nutritional interventions for children with autism spectrum disorder. She has spent all of her postgraduate profession in pediatric settings, with a focus on various forms of assessment and intervention for children with feeding disorders, picky eating behaviors, swallowing dysfunction, and orofacial myofunctional disorders. Samantha has completed coursework and certifications in multiple specialized areas of practice related to feeding and nutrition, including the Baby Breathe Course, Beckman Oral Motor Protocol, Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) Approach to Feeding, Acceptance, Exposure, Independence, Observation and Understanding (AEIOU) Systematic Approach to Feeding, and International Association of Orofacial Myology (IAOM) 28 hour course for Certification in Orofacial Myology. She is enrolled in the Breathe Institute Myo Mentor program and is a member of the Feed the Peds Myo Membership. She is a certified holistic nutritionist, and completed the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) certification in Nutrition, Chronic Disease, and Health Promotion. Samantha currently works providing continuing education courses on topics related to pediatric feeding and owns a private pediatric therapy practice, Integrative Wellness and Therapeutics, in North Carolina.
