Laura Stimler, OTD, OTR/L, BCP, C/NDT, graduated from Saint Louis University with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy in 2002. She earned her Post-professional Doctor of Occupational Therapy degree with a concentration in Pediatric Science from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions in 2014. Laura’s advanced certifications include the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) Board Certification in Pediatrics, USC/WPS Sensory Integration and Administration of Sensory Integration Praxis Test, and Pediatric Neuro-Developmental Treatment. Laura has worked in acute-care oncology for nearly nine years at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, where she has specialized in treating pediatric oncology patients and supervised occupational and physical therapists. Laura has co-authored peer-reviewed publications specific to cancer rehabilitation and presents on local and national levels on the role of OT in oncology. Laura assisted in the creation and implementation of a screening tool used to identify rehabilitation needs in pediatric oncology patients. Additionally, Laura participated as a co-investigator of retrospective research study exploring relationships between thrombocytopenia, activity intensity during rehabilitation services, and frequency of bleeding complications in pediatric oncology patients. Laura recently completed the Cancer Rehabilitation Digital Badge Program through AOTA.
