Heidi Bryan understands the impact of suicide on on our lives and is doing something about it. As a nationally recognized suicide prevention advocate, speaker, and author, Heidi serves as a member of the National Suicide Prevention Action Alliance Attempt Survivor Task Force. Heidi founded Feeling Blue Suicide Prevention Council in 2001, a nonprofit organization based in Pennsylvania and was instrumental in establishing the Pennsylvania Adult/Older Adult Suicide Prevention Coalition (www.PreventSuicidePA.org).
Heidi is a Certified QPR Master Trainer and has served on the Board of Directors for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and was Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Suicide Prevention Action Network (SPAN) USA. Heidi was awarded SPAN USA’s Sandy Martin Grassroots Award in 2005 and developed the booklet, After an Attempt: The Emotional Impact of a Suicide Attempt on Families, which was distributed to every hospital in Pennsylvania. She co-authored another booklet entitled Now What Do I Do? Surviving a Suicide Attempt with Amy Cunningham, Psy.D.
