Barbara Gruennert, RN,BSN,CDE has been a Registered Nurse since 1997 and a Certified Diabetes Educator since 2001. She received her ADN from Edison College in Florida and has recently completed her BSN course work through University of Texas.
Barbara has worked with three separate ADA (American Diabetes Association) recognized diabetes education programs; and served as Program Coordinator for one with multiple education sites. She has published articles in the former Certified Diabetic Services, Inc. member newsletter. Barbara is currently managing an Inpatient Diabetes Education program and has worked to update existing and create new protocols to improve glucose management of patients. She teaches patients in both the inpatient and outpatient settings as well as providing in-services for new RN hires and the hospital’s resident team.
