The Nervous System pathologies course establishes a foundation paradigm of the workings of the human brain and peripheral structures. Hour 1
- Review of major anatomy and physiology of brain, PNS and neurons.
Hour 2
- Properties such as conductivity, uni-directional flow of information, balance of excitatory/inhibitory actions, responses to training and therapy.
Hour 3
- Discussion of symptoms and etiology of major Nervous system pathologies within the brain, neurons, neurotransmitters, including latest methods of treatment.

- List the major divisions of the nervous system
- Identify the principle compartments of the brain
- List the components of a reflex arc
- Identify the parts of a neuron
- Recognize the role of neurotransmitters
- Identify glial cells and similar supporting structures
- Identify the characteristics and results of a Stroke
- List the cause and signs of Parkinson’s Disease
- Recognize morphology observed with Dementia
- List the cause and symptoms of Multiple Sclerosis
- Identify non-surgical interventions for neuro-pathologies
