Course Description:
This course identifies some of the major causes of back pain, which affects over 80% of American adults at some time. The crucial structures related to the spine and the major pathologies which impede spinal health are reviewed. Healthcare professionals will be guided in a discussion of major and supporting structures, risk factors that contribute to back pain and injury and key muscles often implicated in cases of back pain.
The course includes hands-on techniques as well as key stretching and basic strengthening exercises that can be immediately incorporated into their daily treatments.

This course is intended to instruct the professional on some treating low back pain.
Professional Objectives:
At the conclusion of this course, the participant will be able to:
- Identify major and supporting structures vital to spinal health.
- Identify between muscles of gross movement vs. joint stabilization.
- Select common terms related to back pathology (herniation, impingement, spondylolisthesis etc.)
- List crucial risk factors often cited in contributing to back pain and injury.
- Identify key structures and muscles often implicated in cases of back pain.
- Select flexibility techniques known to effectively alleviate back pain.
- Identify basic strength exercises to support back health.
