This course involves a; Neuroanatomy Review Sensory Integration of the Balance System Peripheral vs Central Vestibular System Disorders Common Balance Disorders Evaluation and Treatment Go beyond the peripheral nervous system and learn how to identify and treat your patients who have vertigo or other balance disorder but do not get better with your typical Epley maneuvers, You will learn that the brain stem contributes more to the balance system then you think particularly in gaze stabilization.

Participant will be able to understand not only BPPV, but also the identify the neurological inputs that lead to sensory integration of the balance system, identify deficits and provide accurate, specific treatment to resolve/ reduce a patient’s complaint of vertigo.
Professional Objectives:
- Identify neurological structures of the vision and vestibular system
- Recognize how the vestibular, vision and somatosensory systems interact and the influence of one upon another to the balance system
- Identify difference between a Peripheral vs Central Vestibular System Disorder
- Identify common balance disorders
- Identify when and how a clinican can intervene via treatment or compensatory strategies
