Elizabeth Russell, PhD, completed her masters and doctorate degrees in kinesiology and completed an internship in biomechanics. She currently lectures at the University of Western Florida’s Department of Health, Leisure and Exercise Science, and also serves as a member of the Hiring Committee for Assistant Professors for the University of Massachusetts’ Department of Kinesiology
Dr. Russell has been awarded many honors throughout her education and career. She has published articles in over 10 publications, topics of research include mechanics and energetics of walking in obese women, biomechanic risk factors for knee osteoarthritis in obese women, assessment of coordination in children with spastic diplegia, acute and long-term flexibility enhancement with vibration, and coordination of the hand grip and load forces in uni- and bi-directional static force production tasks.
