Colleen Ann DeRitis, MA, OTR/L, is a licensed and registered occupational therapist with more than 20 years of clinical experience across skilled nursing, inpatient, outpatient, assisted-living, home care, long-term and sub-acute care settings. Mrs. DeRitis is currently Manager of Clinical Practice in Rehabilitation for a Home Care company in NJ. She holds a certificate in Environmental Modifications from the Andrus Gerontology Program at USC.
Mrs. DeRitis has taught a variety of courses as an adjunct faculty member at New York University, Dominican College and State University of New York Downstate, and Long Island University. She has also presented on Group Therapy, Rehabilitation Pharmacology, and Wheelchair and Seating Considerations. While working in home care, she has developed curriculum for workforce retraining for home health aides, an OT Telehealth Pilot Study for home care and an internship program for new OT graduates in home care.
Mrs. DeRitis has published in Advance for Occupational Therapy and contributed a chapter to the National Occupational Therapy Certification Exam Review Study Guide (Cottrell) on Mastery of the Environment. She earned her MA in Occupational Therapy from New York University, and received her BA from Saint Joseph’s College.
