2014 is going to bring big changes to the continuing education requirements and deadlines for all Board Of Certification certified athletic trainers, don’t be caught unawares! While these changes don’t go into effect until January 1st, 2014, you’ll have to sort out your continuing education requirements well before that. Read on for your requirements and deadlines.
The New Rules
As of January 1st, 2014 Certified Athletic Trainers will have 50 CEUs due every 2 years on the odd year. But to make the transition, your current CEU requirements (due this year by December 31st) will depend on your latest reporting period starting date. Confused? Me too so let’s make a table!
Period Start |  CEUs Required by December 31st, 2013 |
January 1st, 2010 | 75 CEUs |
January 1st, 2011 | 75 CEUs |
January 1st, 2012 | 50 CEUs |
Certified in 2012 | 25 CEUs |
