AOTA continuing education is developed to support practitioners and is an integration of concepts, theories, and applications. In order to guide therapists towards obtaining a robust education, they have developed AOTA Classification Codes. The AOTA classifies occupational therapy CE activities into three categories:

- Occupational Therapy Process
- Professional Issues

Q: How are these courses accredited?
A: In the states that require approval, either the state licensing board or state association handles this process. In states where there is an approval process, we submit an application to said entities, who then review the course and grants or denies approval.
Q: How much time do I have to take my course?
A: You have 1 year from date of purchase, OR date of the courses approval expiration whichever comes first. See individual course approvals for more info.
PLEASE NOTE: All webinar exams must be completed by midnight Central Time of the day of the broadcast.
Q: How do I complete my course and get my certificate?
A: Log in to your account and locate the appropriate course on your dashboard. Review the course material and return to the dashboard to complete your course by selecting "Begin Exam". Once complete, submit your exam for grading. The system will automatically grade your exam and generate your course certificate.
Q: Do I need special software to view my course?
A: Our video-based courses are optimized for the most current versions of Safari, Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. A current version of Adobe Flashplayer is also required when viewing on a desktop or laptop computer. Text courses require the latest version of Adobe PDF reader. All video and text courses are mobile ready.
