Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) provides communication for clients who are non-verbal or difficult to understand. Clients using this technology are often evaluated by a Speech Language Pathologist who specializes in this area. The Occupational Therapy Practitioner is often a part of the evaluation as well, specifically addressing client positioning, access, device placement, mounting and use of the device for other features including control of devices in the environment and a computer.
